Pashai people, eastern Afghanistan
Photographs by Karl Wutt in Pashai: Landschaft, Menschen, Architektur (1981).
In 1975 and 1976, still before the military putsch and the Soviet invasion, Karl Wutt studied the architecture and music of three Pashai groups: the Sum, the Shinganek, and the Chugani. Karl Wutt is the author of the only work documenting the architecture of the Pashai that is based on pre-Islamic forms. [x]
